I wanted to let you know that the sacrifice that you made to write on, protect, and preserve the plates has not gone unappreciated. I know that you saw our day, and wrote the things you did to bring us unto Christ. Now, many, many years later, I have read the words that you compiled. I have read them through many times, and studied them, and pondered them. Yes, I accepted your challenge to pray about them, and the uncontainable feelings of joy and of gratitude I feel in my heart testify that they are true. The Book of Mormon is a treasure. It's stories are much more valuable than the gold they were originally inscribed upon. It is priceless.
I also wanted you to know that I have come unto Christ. I have a testimony that He lives, that He died for us and was resurrected. I know that he visited the Americas. I can say unwaveringly that Jesus Christ walked on this continent, and that there were prophets here. I do not understand all things, but I know that my Savior loves me and that he died so I would not have to suffer for my sins.
I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book- the most correct of any book that has ever been on the earth. I know that the prophet Joseph Smith translated it by the power of God, and that God is the author of it. I know that by its teachings we can live celestial lives and be worthy to stand in His presence again.
I just wanted you to know, Moroni, that I believe. I have a testimony of this great work, and will be forever grateful that we have such a compass for our days.
Thank you,
Erin
