I believe in Christ!! I know that this church is the only true church upon the face of the earth! This way of life is the only way to be happy. Missionary work is so important in my life because without it I wouldn’t be here today. I honestly don’t know where I would be. I am so thankful for those men in my life that show their love and serve the Lord. I am indebted for life to the two young missionaries that brought the gospel to my grandfather. My grandfather then taught and raised a family in the gospel. Because of his gratitude to those two missionaries he sent all of his sons on missions to preach the Lord’s gospel. My father served a full time, faithful mission and because of his example I want my brothers to sacrifice two years to the Lord. I want a return missionary to take me through the House of the Lord. I want to be with that special man for time and all eternity. I know that that man will be a faithful priesthood holder because he made all his wrongs rights through repentance and serving a worthy mission. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for you and me. He bled precious drops of blood from every pore for me and you! I know I am not perfect and I know I have done things in my life that are against the will of the Father. However, I have seen and felt the healing power of the atonement in my own life. I have witnessed the healing of the atonement in those around me. I know that if we can rely on the Savior…if we will trust in the Lord with all our hearts we will be successful and prosper in the gospel. I know that if we do this we can gain eternal life. I am thankful for and love the words of President Hinckley’s father, “Forget yourself…and go to work.” I know that President Gordon B. Hinckley is a true prophet and that all those before him were called of God. President Joseph Smith brought upon the dispensation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was called of god and President Thomas S. Monson and his counselors are called of God to be today’s true prophets upon the earth. Those men that lead and direct the church have power and authority of God. I am so thankful for the priesthood power and for the worthy men in my life. I am thankful for a loving father that honors his priesthood and has taught me how to do the same. I want to marry a man that honestly and worthily honors that authority to work in God’s name. I love my family so much and am so thankful for the atonement and for the opportunity I have to be with them for all eternity. Someday, when I have my own family I want my children to want and love being with their family like I do. I know that with faith in Christ I can do anything!!!
My Stake President, President David Heap, counseled our stake that if we will live the “Seven Simple Things” we will live more prosperous, happy, righteous lives. By obeying and using our free agency to choose our own actions we will be blest. The “Seven Simple Things” are as follows:
1. Personal prayer morning and night.
2. Family prayer morning and night.
3. Personal scripture study morning and night.
4. Family scripture study morning and night.
5. Family home evening on every Monday or once during the week.
6. Attend all church meetings as a family.
7. Attend the temple once a month.
I bear testimony that if we will obey our leaders and use our free agency to benefit our lives in the gospel we will be blest and will lead happier lives. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is the only true church on the face of the earth. If we will live the “Seven Simple Things” that President Heap commanded we will be happier in our own personal lives as well as in our families. As my personal family strives to live the gospel and obey the laws and ordinances of the gospel, through free agency, we draw closer together and closer to being a celestial family. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
