Getting Past 1st Nephi chapter 4

The Book of Mormon is always a little intimidating to me. I know that I should read it and I know that I'll learn from it and enjoy it. I know flat out that it will bless my life, it always does. Somehow though, I always start to read it and by the time I get to 1st Nephi chapter 4 I unintentionally end up calling it quits. (At this point I think I'm just tired of reading the same four chapters).
It's sad though, becuase I miss out on reading the rest of the Book of Mormon which I need just as much as those same four chapters I always read.
What I've learned from reading the Book of Mormon is that it really does apply to my life today. It never ceases to amaze me how the things that were written so long ago can help me with the things I deal with now. They can teach me what I need to know, right now. Furthermore, it amazes me how I can come to know the authors of the books within the Book of Mormon and form a relationship with them that is better then some of the relationships I have with people today.
Whoever reads this particular blog, I want you to know that I do have a testimony of the Scriptures and the Book of Mormon. I know that without these books we would be lost. I would be lost. I know that I need to do everything I can to get past 1st Nephi chapter 4 so I can read and learn and soak in all the other information the Book of Mormon holds. I am so grateful for the times that I do get past the same chapters, and I will continue to work on reading the entire Book of Mormon more often. I testify that if you do the same, it will effect your life in a very unique and personal way.
I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior, Amen.
