This semester I have been moved because of a principle that was presented in a different way that I had never considered before. The subject is the Plan of Salvation and the facts and reality are as follows. Basically, I had thought of the Plan of Salvation in its misconcepted form. The misconception is that when we stand in front of God after we complete our mortal mission it will play out like this:

God will pull out a scroll labeled Good Deeds and say, "Well, it looks like you have roughly 2.3 trillion good deeds in your lifetime. Not too bad." Then he will replace the Good Deeds list with the list of Sins and say "And here we have your sins of omission and comission. The number for this one is 720 billion sins in your life time." He wil then do the math subtracting the 720 billion from the 2.3 trillion and come up with the number of 1.5 trillion. He then will pull out the requirements for each kingdom and say "I'm sorry, you just missed the requirement of 1.6 trillion which would have allowed you to go to the Celestial Kingdom. You'll have to settle for the Terestial. Right this way. Next!" I didn't think this was the way that it would play out, however, this is the exact scenario that my actions and daily thoughts and deeds were showing that I believed. This a huge misconception and a mistake in subscribing to. The reality is that everything that we do is added to our heart, to our being, and ultimately to what and who we become.

Anything and everything conributes to the light or darkness that is in our hearts. Whatever level of spirituality or light that we allow ourselves to accept will be the Kingdom that will eventually find ourselves in. I learned this semester that the Plan of Salvation is simply about becoming; becoming like Heavenly Father, becoming like the Savior, and becoming as we listen to the Holy Ghost. "x" heart = "x" Kingdom and that is a fact.

I testify that we can become like God but with his help. I know that it really does pay off to watch what we do and what we say. I know that the Plan of Salvation isn't about sins and good deeds as acts to be added and subtracted from eachother; it is what's in our heart because of our sins and good deeds. I am grateful for this new perspective concerning the Plan of Salvation. I am trying to allow this one message effect the rest of my life as I try to "become" more holy, more obedient, and more like my Savior. I would encourage any and all to think about the Plan of Salvation in one out of many ways to apply it to life. Remember that if we are constantly building ourselves, with God's help, into who he is, we will find it easier to do our Father's will. I know this is true and testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
